Compliance Assistance Center for Hog Raisers in Laguna de Bay Region Philippines

The CAC helps hog and poultry raisers in the Laguna de Bay Region understand environmental laws and regulations, obtain LLDA clearance and discharge permit, and learn about waste reduction measures that could also lower costs and improve operations.

Environmental Requirements for Hog and Poultry Raisers

Commercial hog (more than 100 heads of hogs) and poultry (more than 1,000 heads of birds) raisers in the Laguna de Bay Region must:

Secure an LLDA clearance before operating
Obtain an annual discharge permit to be allowed to release wastewater
Pay environmental user fees (part of permit requirements)
Secure an environmental compliance certificate (ECC) IF located in an environmentally critical area
Submit mitigating measures or waste treatment options before sanitary and business permits can be issued by the Municipal Health Office and the Office of the Mayor
Implement waste recycling, reduction and treatment measures to avoid permit cancellation or revocation and other penalties
Submit quarterly self-monitoring report of quantity and quality of wastes discharged
